Residential home exterior representing a professional home inspection

Residential Home Inspection

A professional home inspection is a visual examination of the home’s readily accessible systems and components. Our residential inspections are performed in accordance with the InterNACHI Standards of Practice and are designed to identify material defects and conditions that may warrant attention.

The inspection includes the major components of the home, including:

  • Roof and exterior

  • Foundation, crawlspace and structural components

  • Basement and interior

  • Electrical system

  • Plumbing system

  • Heating and cooling systems

  • Attic, insulation and ventilation

  • Doors and windows

  • Built-in kitchen appliances

  • Fireplaces and other readily accessible components covered by the Standards of Practice

Following the inspection, you’ll receive a detailed digital report with photographs and descriptions of our findings to help you better understand the condition of the property.

Termite damage to wood discovered during a WDI inspection

WDI / Termite Inspection

Wood-destroying insects can cause significant damage that may not always be obvious during a typical walk-through.

MND Inspection LLC provides Wood-Destroying Insect (WDI) inspections for evidence of termites and other wood-destroying insects. We inspect readily accessible areas of the property for visible evidence of current or previous activity and conditions that may be conducive to infestation.

When required for a real estate transaction, the appropriate WDI inspection documentation can be provided.

Lead testing for potential lead-based paint in a residential property

Lead Testing

Lead-based paint and other lead-containing materials can be a concern, particularly in older homes.

MND Inspection LLC offers lead testing to help determine whether lead is present in tested materials. Testing can provide useful information for buyers, homeowners and property owners who want to better understand potential lead hazards, particularly before renovation or repair work.

Possible mold observed during a residential mold inspection

Mold & Air Testing

Concerned about mold or indoor air quality? MND Inspection LLC offers mold-related testing that can include air sampling and surface/swab sampling when appropriate.

Samples are submitted for laboratory analysis to help identify mold spores present in the samples and provide information about the types and concentrations detected.

Mold testing can be performed in conjunction with a residential home inspection or as a separate service.

Thermal imaging used during a home inspection to identify temperature anomalies

Thermal Imaging

Thermal imaging allows us to identify temperature differences that aren’t visible to the naked eye.

When conditions are appropriate, infrared technology can help identify areas that warrant further investigation, including possible moisture intrusion, missing or inadequate insulation, unusual electrical heating, HVAC performance concerns and other temperature anomalies.

Thermal imaging doesn’t see through walls or directly detect moisture. Instead, it provides additional information that can be evaluated along with the visual inspection and other findings.
